PERIOD … OF ALL TIME! Okay, my point was made. I think it’s because I need some continuous exposure to vitamin D to revitalize the positive chi and positive energies that I need flowing through me. Right now, I’m at basically … nil. The winter dreariness and constant shades of gray are finally starting to take its toll on my psyche. Where is THAT sun!?! You know that LARGE round glowing thingy in the sky that’s yellow-orange by midday and kind of a grumpy-orange by dusk!?! That light that sends crazy rays all over the place and happens to bombard the earth only because we’re in the way!?! Oh yeah, it radiates heat too! Yeah, it’s a multifunctional, pretty awesome ball of gas that could be deadly, but ends up making most people feel warm and fuzzy inside when that particular warmth touches the senses, sending a shivering “goosebump” reaction and making life seem A-okay! Yeah, I know you know the one! Well, I think some of us in the Pacific Northwest have actually forgotten and need a serious jog to the memory banks in order to even remember what the sun looks and feels like. Well, not actually feel, cause the touch would instantly incinerate … ohhhh my, I digress. It must be a symptom of those winter doldrums. Sigh … Okay, for those of you who are currently basking in the warm rays of OUR sun, PLEASE share and send some warm rays to the Pacific Northwest. I think that many who live here would agree! I feel like I’m personally turning a shade of gray. As far as I know, THAT’s not a very good thing!

In the meantime, I’ll post my cover of “Rainy Days and Mondays”. I love this song because a silver lining does permeate the lyrics and the melody with a sense of hope that all is NOT lost. A sense of hope underlies the gloom and shoulders the burden of carrying the “blues”, but, only until those two feet can stand firmly planted, once again. In the meantime, a gentle reminder is needed to hold firmly upon that reliable something, whatever it may be, or whomever, he or she, may be. Everything will be just fine. Really, it will be fine. I do flash a few smiles, here and there, just to let you know that everything’s just fine with me. Personally, I’ll continue to wait patiently for that sun to share some warmth. Hopefully, when our sun finally does share, we’ll ALL be able to shake these winter doldrums!

Hey j! You were waiting for another one from The Carpenters?
Well, here it is! I hope you like it! =)

From Wikipedia:
"Rainy Days and Mondays" is a 1971 song by The Carpenters that went to #2 on the BillboardHot 100 chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA. It was also the duo's fourth #1 song on the Adult Contemporary singles chart. However, the song failed to chart in the United Kingdom until it went to #63 in a reissue there in 1993. The song was composed in 1971 by then fairly unknown composers Roger Nichols and Paul Williams. It was released as the first track on the album Carpenters. The B-side on the single is "Saturday." Olivia Newton-John, one of Karen's best friends, recorded a cover version of this song in her album Indigo: Women of Song as a tribute to Karen.
