My wife and I are celebrating our sixteenth wedding anniversary this week! My love, look what we’ve done together in eighteen years as a couple. Every wonderful moment is a living dream. Prior to our first date on October 17, 1998 at Pacific Desert, our relationship was already twenty-one years in the making, an inspiring fairytale I intend to publish in the future. I never imagined a grand proposal for myself, but the boy that I was dreamt of you and you alone. As a boy, I just didn’t know when and how you and I would finally meet. Through all of my years imagining, we were already connected, unaware of the circumstances. My patience grew thin, but when the time was finally right for us to be together, everything became clear, instantly. I would like to believe I didn’t have to wait until I was thirty years old before my childhood dream was finally realized, but the fact of the matter is that if we had met any earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready to be the man of your dreams. You gave me your attention from a distance for ten years after I became a lay minister and I had no clue. If I had discovered your attention any earlier, the fruits of time invested would not have ripened. In order to continue our fairytale, our first meeting had to be fairytale worthy and it certainly was. My unrealized childhood dream had been taking a heavy toll on me when the moment of fruition finally arrived. Late for the wedding of my ex-girlfriend, who also happened to be your close friend, I burst through the church doors after being purified by a tremendous storm. There you were looking at me like I was a freak of nature. I didn’t understand your reaction at that time, but that’s because you already knew that both of our lives were about to change for the better. Almost eighteen years have passed since that destined meeting and now we are blessed with three incredible children continually enriching our lives! Our fairytale advances and we aspire to make our living dreams flourish. The five of us keep moving forward and I pray that we continue to thrive through our daily commitment to ourselves and to one another. I pray for a fantastic future that we each envision for ourselves and for each other. Thank you for this remarkable journey together, my love. Thank you for choosing me, my love.
