My wife tells me that if it was possible, she would spend every moment with me. I can tell by her voice and by the gleam in her eyes that she feels we can accomplish anything together. I smile at my wife and ask her a rhetorical question, “Did you know I’m the luckiest?” We know it’s not possible to spend every moment together. At least, it’s not possible at this time in our lives. But, my wife and I are anticipating a time when we are both retired and when our children have developed their own fruitful lives. We’ll be walking hand in hand, anywhere and everywhere. When those times have come upon us, then we’ll spend as much of as many moments as we can, together.
We envision that future, so we are doing what must be done in order to achieve those goals. Determination, hard work, and perseverance are necessary, but those efforts are not enough. Every effort must be infused with passion. Passion is the X-factor that will give rise to the best results. There are no guarantees and we know that, but we can maximize our opportunities by simply having the appropriate attitude. Here is a quote from Zig Ziglar that my cousin Jamie recently shared, “F-E-A-R has two meanings: ‘Forget Everything And Run’ or ‘Face Everything And Rise.’ The choice is yours.” Fear can freeze or fear can motivate. We choose to ‘Face Everything And Rise’. That is the future we are planning. We have much to accomplish. We are taking the necessary steps towards the future we seek. It is a wonderful time to look forward in planning. We are walking hand in hand through every effort together and that, in and of itself, makes it easy for us to envision our future together. So, I’ll continually ask my wife the rhetorical question, “My love, did you know I’m the luckiest?” Happy Valentine’s Day, My Love!!!!!!!
