?wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Thanks to my good friend, Mark Thomas, a sensational vocalist with two YouTube channels, I’m able to cover my favorite song by Boz Scaggs. Mark posted a wonderful cover for “Sierra” earlier this year. When I enjoyed his version, I commented on how I envied his ability to find so many songs that I want to also cover. I actually wrote that I was jealous, but that jealousy implied that Mark has an uncanny ability to choose a great number of songs I would also choose to record. As gracious as he is, Mark sent a copy my way. I’m incredibly grateful to Mark for finding all of the incredible music that he finds and makes his own in stylish fashion. I couldn’t pass this one by. “Thanks Mark! I really appreciate your help, Brother!”
In some ways, I enjoy Boz Scaggs 1994 album Some Change more than I enjoy his smash hit-filled 1976 album Silk Degrees. Both albums are near the top of my list of all-time favorite albums. Silk Degrees has “Georgia”, “Harbor Lights”, “Lowdown”, Lido Shuffle”, “We’re All Alone”, and more. It could simply be that “Sierra” is on Some Change and that’s why I place so much value on the 1994 album. Who am I kidding? It is. From Wikipedia: Allmusic’s retrospective review called Some Change "a very honest and natural-sounding collection of pop, pop/rock, and soul-influenced pop" and "his best album since 1976's Silk Degrees.
