Pat Boone, who wrote the lyrics for the main theme from the 1960 film Exodus, originally composed by Ernest Gold, and Andy Williams, who covered this powerful song on his Moon River and Other Great Movie Themes album, are musicians forever ingrained within me as favorites of my mom. And, anyone who reminds me of my mom will always have a special place in my heart. My mom is and forever will be my reason for singing.
August 9, 2012 will mark the 13th Memorial for my mom’s passing into our Lord God’s Kingdom in Heaven. She is forever within the hearts and souls of my family. Not a moment goes by without her family’s love extending beyond our world, continuously seeking and reaching for my mom. The power of our love for my mom is steadfast and strong. My mom continues to be a shining, guiding light for her loved ones. “We miss your physical presence with us here, mom, but we know you’re needed for a Greater Purpose. It’s the wisdom behind that Purpose that’s difficult to grasp, but we continue onward.” From Wikipedia: Pat Boone wrote the lyrics for the instrumental theme song (music composed by Ernest Gold) for the 1960 film Exodus, for which he titled “This Land is Mine”.
