I remember enjoying this sentimental ballad when “Home” was released for the first time on the radio in 2005. Michael Bublé was branching out from his amazing charismatic pop standard styling and he began promoting a contemporary sound. At first, I turned away but it didn’t take long for me to fully embrace the wonder of this music. Even though I rarely travel far from home, the music and lyrics are so easy to appreciate. I can feel the longing. “Thanks” Mr. Bublé, Mr. Chang, and Mrs. Foster-Gillies for this beautiful collaboration.
From Wikipedia: "Home" is a song recorded by Canadian pop-jazz musician Michael Bublé. It was released on March 31, 2005, as the second single from his album It's Time. The song was written by Bublé, along with Alan Chang and Amy Foster-Gillies. "Home" was a hit for Bublé in both Canada and the United States, topping the U.S. adult contemporary chart. Since the release of Bublé's original version, two covers have also been released as singles by other artists. The first of these was by the Irish band Westlife, whose 2007 rendition was a Top Ten hit in several European countries. American country music singer Blake Shelton also released a cover in early 2008, reaching the top of the U.S. country singles charts with his version. The song has been used in The Wedding Date. In December 2011, Michael Buble performed a duet of the song with UK singer-songwriter Gary Barlow, whilst also performing Barlow's Rule The World together. The performance gained great reception from fans, where it began trending worldwide on Twitter. Soon after it was broadcast, a petition was set up for the collaboration to be made available for digital download to challenge for the UK Christmas Number 1 spot.
