Catherine Gipaya eternally blessed all that I am, by marrying me on May 27, 2000. After she had accepted my proposal for our marriage on her birthday in 1999, we spent the next fourteen months planning for our wedding ceremony, together. We had so much fun setting everything in motion and putting everything in place. Catherine travelled to the Philippines with her mom in order to find the perfect wedding gown and bring home other precious items for our Wedding Celebration. I also planned my secret gifts for my then, bride to be. I hand-crafted several precious items to be presented for our wedding. One of the items that I created for her, was a hand-drawn calendar representing "our calendar year" entitled: A Cat & Erwin 2000 Calendar - A Memories Collection. It took me seven months to complete. For those of you who were at our Wedding Reception, you may recall all of the months displayed upon easels. I would like to take a few words from that calendar and post them here ...
"Catherine and I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who have contributed in making our wedding day a success!!! In God's Blessing, as one, Catherine and I take another step forward. In stride, we have found in one another - the same values ... the same purpose ... the same answers. We give thanks to those who have walked beside us throughout our lives and continue to help us learn and grow. Each loved one and friend gives us wisdom that we cherish. Catherine and I will continue to build upon the generosity of these efforts ... thank you all." Those sentiments continue to hold true to this very day, and beyond. We are eternally grateful to our loving parents, to our siblings and their families, to our growing family, and to all of our wonderful friends. We are grateful, not only because we are surrounded by so many good people who share similar values, but, we are grateful because you are the people who have helped shape who we are today. YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Every relationship, every conversation, every gesture, molds and shapes the future - our future, your future. We give thanks every day for all. Ten years is a small stepping stone to what we are hoping will lead to many more decades of happiness to come ... we hope ... for all. Alas, I am dedicating the song that I sang for my wife ten years ago at our wedding reception, with an updated version of "You Make Me Feel Brand New", for 10 Blissful Years of Marriage to my beautiful wife, Catherine Gipaya Lazaro.
