Bruno Mars tunes have been blasting throughout the Lazaro home this year. His music is incredibly appealing to our collective ears! “The boy can saaaaaaang!” Bruno Mars is a pure entertainer in every sense of the word. He is a prolific singer-songwriter, producer, dancer, and musician. He can play the piano, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, and drums. He can beatbox too. He is the consummate performer. His accolades are numerous and the reasons for his success are obvious. His musical styles are not limited to any one genre. His appreciation for many styles is clearly evident in his music and his family plays a big role as to why he is so good at what he does. Check out his videos on YouTube and it is really difficult not to smile and sway along with his music. Well, the upbeat ones, anyway. I think his voice is perfect for his tormenting ballads that have captured millions of listeners too. I may cover one of those in the future. I first have to determine whether I can pull it off well enough so I don’t embarrass myself too much.
Anyway, when my family and friends karaoke at my home my wife wants to sing all of the Bruno Mars songs so I rarely get to sing any of his hits. That is, unless my wife is busy with something else so she doesn’t take over the mic! LOL! So, the only way I get to really sing my favorite Bruno Mars song is when I record. My wife dares not accidentally get recorded. I’ve encouraged her to sing a duet with me, but she still refuses to record for a video. In this case, I don’t mind. Hehehe ;) I have to take advantage of that!
As for posting a video for the month of July, I had an easy choice to make. Also, since I began posting videos and sharing my love for popular music, I’ve been choosing a song that represents summer for me. For 2013, I’ve chosen to cover “Treasure” by Bruno Mars as my “summer song”. Of all of his songs, “Treasure” is at the top of my list. We can’t get enough of this song and none of us can stop singing and smiling when “Treasure” hits the airwaves!
"Treasure" was released as the third single from Unorthodox Jukebox and has seen commercial success as like his previous singles, “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man”. Prior to its single release, the song peaked at #118 in France.
