Ever insisted on posting his next YouTube video on July 4th. Happy 4th of July for everyone celebrating Independence Day in the U.S.! Ever is extremely excited! Ever's fourth piano recital already took place. It was a GRAND EVENT on June 26, 2010. All of the students were dressed in formal attire. Emersen joined him. This was Emersen's third piano recital. Their cousins, Richelle and Richmond, performed, as well. Our friend from Han's World Tae Kwon Do, Caden, experienced his first piano recital. They all performed marvelously! It's always a pleasure to enjoy live musical performances by growing talent. As I mentioned for Emersen's debut video on YouTube, four weeks ago, students were given the opportunity to choose a popular song for their recital piece. This opportunity gave them a chance to choose music that they truly love, for which they already have an appreciation. Ever chose "Replay", made popular by Iyaz. Focus on his hands. It's amazing to see his 8-year-old fingers float across the "ivories"! I can only imagine how good he would be if we pressed him further. Within our family, we have the philosophy that our children have the choice to pursue what they desire. As parents, God willing, blessed with opportunities, it's our responsibility to nurture and guide our children as best as we can. Thus, we provide direction and gentle nudging to ensure that our children make the best choices possible. Discipline is equal to the love that we share with our children. ALL of the parents we know, share similar values. That, in of itself, is a blessing. Parents are not friends. Friends are friends. Parents are dictators with compassion. We are given the responsibility to TEACH, in addition to sharing lifelong love. As much as I want to push my children to their limits, I have to balance each decision with compassion, as well as, provide the discipline that ensures the best probability for a nurtured success, for EVERY SINGLE CHOICE; regardless of the condition of my mood, my health, or my physical well-being. I'm honored to be the father of three children. I will do everything, in my ability, to ensure that Ever, Emersen, and Cara, flourish and reach as far as their souls will fly. And, they will struggle. Every action requires effort. Cat and I will love our children, no matter what. Cat and I will do so with endless hugs, boundless support, and unconditional love. It's priceless to absorb all that children are, especially when you're willing to devote all that you are, to your children. They simply amaze! Wait, wasn't this supposed to be about Ever's recital piece!?! I'm such a chatterbox ... figuratively, of course!
