I've been getting requests for copies of my CDs, but my CDs are not for sale. So, I've been thinking about a way to share what I've recorded, without worrying about all of the legal hassles regarding distribution of copyrighted materials. I figure that posting music tracks from my CD on YouTube, is no different than posting myself singing karaoke on YouTube. Therefore, over time, I'm going to place a few of the tracks from my CD, Uncover This, on YouTube. Okay, I did all ready post my rendition of Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up", but I created a video version of it. This time, I'm taking the track directly from my CD. I haven't posted a fast track since Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" (14th post), so I'm going to start with my rendition of Marc Anthony's swaying cha-cha number, "I Need to Know". This one is my cousin Aimee's favorite track on my "debut" CD. It's time for everyone to get up and swing those hips for a few minutes!
From Wikipedia: "I Need to Know" is a song by Marc Anthony. It was released as the lead single of his first English language album Marc Anthony, on August 15, 1999. The song was written and produced by Marc Anthony and Cory Rooney. A Spanish version, titled "Dímelo", was released, with the collaboration of Robert Blades and Angie Chirino. The lyrics are about a man who wants to know about a woman's feelings for him. Both versions of the track were very successful in the United States. The English version peaked at number 3 in the Billboard Hot 100, and at number-one in the Hot Latin Tracks for 5 consecutive weeks. This track received three Latin Grammy nominations including: Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. "I Need to Know" won Song of the Year at the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards. Also, during that ceremony, Marc Anthony received a nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, but Sting took the award with his single, "Brand New Day".
