Erwin Lazaro cglazaro100 Elvis Presley - Love Me Tender (G.R. Poulton, K. Darby) ~ Erwin Lazaro 042
My dad is a LION. Lions are Self-confident, Fiery, Territorial, and Passionate. Lions have great Intuition. Lions and Loyalty are synonymous. Above all, lions are GENEROUS. All of these traits, accurately and completely, describe my father. On the exterior, my father SURPASSES the toughness of high-carbon steel. He is coated with aggregated diamond nanorods!!! He is not a big man, but his AMAZING aura is LARGER than life. He is a born leader and makes tough decisions over great deliberation, yet, his calm intuition allows him the ability to decide an immediate course of action with ease, COMPLETELY CERTAIN that his assessment is accurate and correct. My father is also a risk-taker. He has the COURAGE, also synonymous with the imagery of lions, TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, even though it's safer to make alternate choices. I would have you believe that I am describing a 5-star general. From the depths of my soul, I AM. My father knows that GROWTH and WISDOM does NOT stem from complacency and fear. Our world has evolved because of GREAT PEOPLE who were infused with ALL of these AMAZING characteristics. I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT MY DAD IS ONE OF THESE GREAT PEOPLE. I declared under my last video for "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" that my dad has too many accolades to list on YouTube. I will let ALL OF YOU know that, if you have travelled by air, over the last 40 years, my dad is one of the people who have continually improved the quality of your flights. I'm not talking about pillows or nuts or reclining seat, either. I'll just say that his GENIUS has successfully, and continually, revolutionized aviation technology (implementation and production), with "ideas become reality", that could only be revealed in dreams, for people like me. And for ALL OF THIS, my dad, my father, has faced adversity from "hyenas" who have made his life miserable. I do want to clarify that he didn't face an entire den of "hyenas", but, even a few, can inflict significant damage. That's what GREAT LEADERS face, don't they? Unfortunately, adversity is ALWAYS required for any person's advancement; "rites of passage".
And, in light of all of those adversities, visibly scarred by his battles, my dad's heart GLOWS with kindness and warmth and compassion and LOVE. From the beginning, my dad has NEVER lost sight on his PURPOSE for his life. He has ALWAYS been driven by his LOVE for our Lord God in Heaven, and for his family. Just like any GREAT LEADER, a KING in my heart, my dad places his loved ones ABOVE ALL; above himself. My dad is Discipline. My dad is Provider. My dad is Lionhearted. A person cannot be GREAT without FAITH. Faith means believing and trusting in the UNKNOWN. He DOES BELIEVE and look at what he HAS been able to SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISH!!! My dad is MY HERO. My hero is TOUGH on the outside and TENDER on the inside. My ADMIRATION for my father goes well beyond what any words can EVER describe. So, of course, I'll sing it in a song. I'm singing this one as the voice for my entire family, whom I am CERTAIN, feel the same way about Luis J. Lazaro Jr., as I DO. With all of the tenderness that I can offer, dad, "Love Me Tender" by Elvis Presley, is from all of your loved ones, dedicated, especially for you. WE LOVE YOU WITH ALL OF OUR HEARTS X INFINITY!!!!!!!
My father was Inventor of the Year, THREE TIMES.
"Love Me Tender" is a song sung by Elvis Presley, adapted from
the tune of "Aura Lee" (or "Aura Lea"), a sentimental Civil War ballad with music by George R. Poulton and words by W.W. Fosdick. "Aura Lee" was published in 1861 and this Civil War song later became popular with college glee clubs and barbershop quartets. It was also sung at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.
The King performed "Love Me Tender" on The Ed Sullivan Show on September 9, 1956, shortly before the single's release and about a month before the movie, Love Me Tender, was released, for which the song was originally recorded. On the following day, RCA received 1 million advance orders, making it a gold record before it was even released. The studio, 20th Century Fox, originally wanted to call the movie The Reno Brothers but instead re-titled it Love Me Tender to capitalize on the song's popularity.
Movie producer Hal Wallis would not allow Presley's regular band (Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and D.J. Fontana) to play on the soundtrack. Instead, The Ken Darby Trio provided the musical backing with Red Robinson on drums, Charles Prescott on bass, Vita Mumolo on guitar, and Jon Dodson on background vocals, with Presley providing only lead vocals.
The song is credited to Presley and Vera Matson because of the publishing agreement reached for the assignment of royalties, but the principal writer of the lyrics was Ken Darby (Matson's husband). The song was published by Elvis Presley Music. Darby also adapted the Civil War tune, which was in the public domain.
